Fuel consumption information for importers

Search the Database

Once you have entered the chassis number for the vehicle you are importing, you will be presented with a short series of questions designed to:

  • Identify (if possible) the engineering type of the vehicle (eg. model code and variant).
  • Find or help you record the fuel consumption information for the vehicle.

The questions will vary depending on where you are importing the vehicle from. In some cases, you will be referred to the NZTA for further assistance.

If you are able to provide documentation that adequately identifies the vehicle (eg. a Japanese deregistration certificate or European Type Approval), the steps to complete this process will be minimal.
